Unfortunately its only the start
Well, the historic vote has taken place and the nation of Scotland has decided that they want to stay within the British arena. This is good as the status quo is maintained, but is it?
With all the hype and facts being laid out on the table it would appear that many peoples within the rest of the UK now see and feel that Scotland gets more than enough of its share and, naturally, people think this is unfair. In addition with devolution people are now asking why are not we ALL treated the same way. We are after all equal, are we not? Therefore what we will see for the next 5 odd years is pressure on the powers that enough is enough.
We all want equality and harmony and this means that Scotland cannot have different powers to the other nations, that we all must be seen to be treated the same and have an equal voice. Will this happen? Well only time will tell but what will happen will be the increasing dissapproval against the Scottish nation for putting the financial position under pressure and affecting all others because of the manner the debate was undertaken in.
Had Scotland "had a detailed logical plan" that was discussed by all over a year or so then there was an excellent chance that after debate Scotland would have become independent. This would have happened fairly and the rest of the United Kingdom would not feel agrieved. Thats is democracy.
So, we are were we are but unfortunately its only the start. Interesting times ahead for all, not least the Labour party who now see their possibilty of managing UK PLc gone with the Scots opportunity, They are not going quietly which means that nothing political will happen when it was meant to. They will want to do some form of swop for power so life in the Uk will never be the same.
The more the parties debate the more the other devolved powers will say not on your nellie, we are all in it together. "less of the whats in it for me please"
No this vote for independence is unfortunately only the start of an increasing accrimonious debate.
Hold onto your horses, it could get a little rough.
